Group Meetings:

We meet on the second Tuesday of each month in the function room of the The Dolphin Hotel, Station Road, Dolphin Square, Bovey Tracey, Devon, TQ13 9AL, tel. 01626 832413 (see link for map). Our informal meetings are open to members and non-members alike and start at approximately 8pm, offering a good chance to meet up and chat with fellow trail riders.

Riding Events 2010
Devon TRF is proud to announce the following non-competitive riding events for 2010 - full details including cost and directions can be found in our flyer here (pdf, A3):

• Whiteway Barton MX Track - Sunday 1.8.10
  Having ridden the track on 20.6.10, we are looking forward to our second visit to Whiteway Barton on 1.8.10. Starting at approximately 5pm after the race meetings and finishing at 8.30pm, this is your chance to ride a championship MX track! Thanks go to Devon TRF member John Heal for arranging these events, and to Dave Thorpe and Barry Moore for allowing us to use the track.
• Haccadown Woods - Sunday 22.8.10
  A midday start for this course held in private woodland with a £5 discount for TRF members. Once again our popular BBQ will be on site.

Please note that fully road-legal, properly silenced bikes will only be permitted at our events, and we reserve the right to refuse entry to bikes we judge unsuitable on the day. If your day will be spoilt by waiting behind another rider until it is safe to pass, please do not come to our events.

Austin Vince 12.11.10
Austin Vince, of Mondo Enduro fame, is returning to Devon TRF on Friday 12.11.10! Always popular, please book your place in advance to avoid disappointment to hear Austin's enlightening and hilarious tales of the world of adventure motorcycling. 2010 Completed Events

Running through private farmland and made up of woodland and fields, we returned to the fantastic Hazelwood Farm courtesy of the landowners on Sunday the 11th of July. Running the circuit in reverse from last year and enjoying decent weather, a great day's riding was had by all.

On Sunday the 20th of June we made the first of our visits to Whiteway Barton MX tack. Once again we had good weather and a good evening's ride was had by novice and more experienced riders alike. If you'd like to try your hand at riding on a MX track, we will be visiting Whiteway Barton again on 1.8.10.

On Sunday the 13th of June we held our second event at Musbury MX track. Enjoying good weather and the on-site BBQ, the day was a great success for TRF members and non-members alike.

Over the weekend of the 17th and 18th of April, we held our annual "Teign to Tamar" fund raising event in glorious sunshine. Devon TRF members guided visitors around some of Devon's best green lanes, starting from Wheeldon Farm. Details of this completed event can be found in our flyer.

On the 26th of February 2010 talented enduro rider Tamsin Jones paid us a visit to tell us about her determined attempt in January 2010 to successfully complete the Dakar Rally, becoming the youngest UK woman to complete this mentally and physically punishing event. We were very lucky as Tamsin was able to bring her race bike, a modified Yamaha WR450. Our flyer is still available here, and you can read about Tamsin's preparation here and here.

Events from 2009

Sam Manicom told us about his eight year, 200,000 mile motorcycle trek around the globe on 23.10.09.

On 27.9.09, we held a members-only riding event at a motocross track near Musbury, Axminster. We had great weather and will be looking to repeat this event next year, having been granted the landowner's permission. There are plenty of comments on our public forum (search under "Musbury") and a selection of photographs can be found in this forum thread.

Lifelong TRF member Austin Vince of Terra Circa/Mondo Enduro fame gave us a very informative and entertaining presentation on 4.9.09 about his round-the-world motorcycling exploits in his talk "The Art of DIY Adventure Motorcycling".

On 23.8.09 we held our annual Haccadown Woods riding event which was a resounding success for Devon TRF, with both members and non-members riding road-legal motorcycles around this woodland track. Our thanks go to the land owner (and Chairman of Devon TRF!) Noel Squibb for the use of the woodland track, and his neighbour Richard Lennard for the use of the adjacent MX section.

On 12.7.09 we held our annual ride on private land at Hazelwood Farm. This event was open to both Devon TRF members and non-members alike running fully road-legal bikes. The track managers kindly allowed Devon TRF the use of Whiteway Barton MX Track following the race meetings on 17.5.09 and 5.7.09. Thanks are due to Devon TRF member John Heal for arranging these events, and to Dave Thorpe and Barry Moore for allowing us to use the track.

Our Spring 2009 Teign to Tamar green-laning event was oversubscribed and took place over 24 - 26.4.09 in conjunction with Wheeldon Farm.
